Pixel Soccer Kickstarter Finished

Hi All,

Our Kickstarter has ended! Thank you all who contributed and believed in Pixel Soccer’s potential.

In the end over £7k was pledged which is an amazing amount and shows us that there is a fan-base out there for this game.

Unfortunately though, we have been unable to meet our Kickstarter goal amount to develop Pixel Soccer full-time.

We don’t think relaunching our Kickstarter with a lesser amount is a good idea as this would mean we would have to drastically reduce the scope and number of features. We would like to stay true to the original design of a quality football game with depth.

So what next?

There is no way we will give up now. We want to keep Pixel Soccer alive. Pixel Soccer will be a great game when finished and we intend to do just that. Our plan is to continue developing Pixel Soccer in our spare time as we have been up till now. But that also means we cannot estimate when we are able to have the game finished.

Pixel Soccer - Pre-alpha Build

Here are links to a pre-alpha development build of Pixel Soccer. The game is not finished and is still in development.

CONTROLS: When in a match press “p” or click on the pause button to see the control keys. Or read here :) . Player 1 = Arrow keys + m. Player 2 = wasd + z.

PC version

Apologies if the original Mac version did not work for you. We have worked out the issue. 

If you see the message “PixelSoccerPreAlphaV032Mac is damaged and can’t be opened. You should move it to the Trash.” follow these steps to allow your Mac to recognise Pixel Soccer…

1) Click CANCEL on this message

2) Under the APPLE MENU, choose SYSTEM PREFERENCES

3) Click the SECURITY & PRIVACY icon

4) Click the LOCK in the lower-left corner to permit changes

5) In the section labelled “ALLOW APPLICATIONS DOWNLOADED FROM:”

6) choose the option “ANYWHERE”

Launch Pixel Soccer now.

NOTE: Once your finished playing Pixel Soccer remember to set the security back to the normal preference.

Multi-player / Mobile / Console - Stretch Goals

On-line/Local Multi-player

If we reach this stretch goal we will add local and on-line multi-player to Pixel Soccer.

Mobile( iOS/Android + Linux )

Pixel Soccer Mobile! If we reach this stretch goal we will port Pixel Soccer to iOS, Android and Linux.

Console( Vita/PlayStation/Xbox )

Should we reach this stretch goal we will do everything we can to get Pixel Soccer onto PlayStation and XBOX platforms. 

We would love to see Pixel Soccer on these platforms but as we have to ask Microsoft and Sony for permission we cannot guarantee they will see how great Pixel Soccer is. But we will try!

If we reach this stretch goal we will include the following scenarios to Pixel Soccer

Limited Games Scenario ( e.g You have eight games left ) 

  • Win league
  • Qualify for continental cup 
  • Achieve promotion 
  • Avoid relegation 

Limited Seasons Scenario ( e.g You have four seasons )

  • Win domestic cup or league
  • Win continental cup
  • Win world cup

Limited Time Scenario ( e.g 15 mins left )

  • Win match

Limited Budget Scenario( e.g Given budget of £X, assemble a squad and win a cup, league or match )

We will also include two fan suggested scenarios. We will hold a competition and pick two winners after the kickstarter has ended.
